Check out the 2011 Minutes to see what we’re planning for the upcoming 2011 YUFA season. Highlights include:
1) Joining the Canadian Ultimate Association and creating a new Yukon/Northern chapter.
2) Possibly hosting a tournament here in Whitehorse in Summer 2012.
3) Organising a team to attend Pumpkin Pull tournament in Victoria BC this October.
4) Creating the 1st soon-to-be-annual Alumni Game: Old school vs. New School.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, March 1, at 5:00 pm at Tippler’s Pub (Old Capital/Tim’s pub). All are welcome to attend and we encourage folks to come out if you’d like to participate in any of these events.

Though the turnout has been a bit smaller the games are still awesome. We’re still playing on Sunday nights at the Canada Games Centre. In the new year we may have an additional night for pick-up ulti. Stay tuned for more info.
Just a reminder the skills clinic starts at 4:30 and the game starts at 5:15. Bring a light and dark shirt and come get your game on!
Thanks to everyone who came out on Sunday I think there was a record number of players out – 30 in total.
This Sunday the focus of the skills clinic is space, creating it, running to it, blocking it and throwing into it. We’ll finish of with a huck drill just before the game.
Games starts at 5:15 at the Canada Games Centre. Bring a white shirt and dark shirt.

Due to popular request I will be putting on a skills clinic before the game this Sunday. Meet up at the Canada Games Centre at 4:30 and we’ll spend 45 minutes going over various ultimate skills and drills.
This week we’ll focus on:
- throwing and catching
- effective marking
- cutting to the disc
At the end we’ll pull everything we’ve worked on and run through a seattle drill.

Indoor Ultimate is alive and well. Come out Sundays at the Canada Games Centre from 5:15 to 6:45 for an hour and a half of Ultimate goodness. Its drop-in/pick-up ultimate so bring a white and dark shirt for teams and make sure to get a pass at the entrance.
The first day of indoor ultimate is going to be Sunday September 28th!
8:45a to 10a.

All, we have been allocated the following time slot for indoor ulty this year:
8:45a to 10a on Sunday mornings.
It’s a touch early for some but the usual prices will apply and we will update here or via email about any cancellations throughout the year. We will also continue the attendance boosting registration fee at a wallet busting 5$. Or less than one coffee and sandwich at the Game Centre for those that feel green in the morning!
Keen eyed schedule watchers will have noticed that our time slot is already allocated. First day of the season will be announced soon!
Hey all! Great season so far with great attendance and enthusiasm!
A couple of dates for you to be aware of:
End of Season BBQ: Tuesday, September 2nd.
7pm until we go home! There will be burgers, veggie burgers an assortment of fixin’s, chips and drinks. In addition, Frickets and the Goalti kit will make an appearance. 2$ for non-members, free for Members. Come on out and enjoy! Ride a bike and save the planet!
Last Day of Outdoor Ultimate
This date is pending light, weather and attendance but we will try and push for outdoor ultimate on Tuesdays for a bit longer. We are also talking about Sunday afternoon ultimate – stay tuned.
Indoor Season Starting soon
We are in the midst of getting our indoor time slot confirmed. It will likely be Sunday mornings with a start time of 9am or 10am for an hour. We are pushing hard for the 10am time slot. There will be a one time winter membership fee this year ($5) in addition to your regular Games Centre usage fees.
It’s the time of year where we get an earlier time slot again. Note the below time changes!

When: Starting Tuesday, July 1st @ 7:30pm to 10pm
What to bring:
- white shirt
- black shirt
- cleats
- water
- lots of bug spray
We will be dedicating the first 30 minutes or so to drills and clinic style teachings. We will then switch over to scrimmaging.

Why am I paying League Fees?
League fees have been introduced this year to increase attendance. We wanted to put a value on the time spent playing ultimate and hopefully increase attendance throughout the summer.
The intent is to charge a token fee to cover the cost of BBQ’s and other fun events.
